When both of Sharon’s parents began living with dementia, her family was overwhelmed. Although her parents had planned carefully for retirement, the growing costs of dementia care quickly exceeded their resources. 

That's when they found OPICA.

Through OPICA's Scholarship program, both of Sharon's parents were able to participate in all of the services they needed. Her mother found joy in music and dancing, and her father, a retired Teamster, rediscovered the sense of community, purpose and conversation that had been central to his life. 

Thankfully, OPICA's Scholarship Program was there for them, without it - Sharon's parents would not have been able to come to OPICA.

When you give to OPICA's Scholarship program, you are directly supporting the families who depend on us. This is where our Scholarship Program becomes a lifeline - OPICA subsidizes the cost of our program for these individuals through our Scholarship funding to ensure they do not miss out on the care and support they require.
